I found a few pairs of these founding in wet swamp land right by the beach in sand. They are metallic gold in sunlight and about 1/4" long, I'm debating on keeping them. Does anyone here know anything about these?

Looks like some kind of Staphylinidae. There are so many subfamilies of rove beetles that that's the best I can give you. It's a beautiful beetle.
I just looked it up, apparently there are 3,200 individual genera of rove beetle.
