Hey guys, I'm an antkeeper, ant influencer guy from the Czech republic (or Czechia). I've been interested in ants since early childhood, but started properly when I stumbled upon AntsCanada (as is usually the case) in 2017. I got fascinated, made my youtube channel right away and documented my journey through antkeeping with my videos. That made me the biggest solely antkeeping influencer in Czechia and Slovakia (slovakian is similar to czech and we can understand each other). Since coming to University in 2022 I've become more invested in myrmecology and had less time for developing my youtube career. One of my goals was to do content in english as well, but I'm working on Melanesian Odontomachus taxonomy instead.

I kept more than 90 species of ants, my biggest being Lasius niger, Messor barbarus, Odontoponera denticulata. I like to get 1-2 years of experience with each species, although 3 years would be the best, so that I could get experience with their medium or big sized colonies, not just small ones.

Czech species: 40
European species: 28
Exotic species: 22

I have some experiments running and partly finish, which I would like to introduce and summarize on these forums. One being the Camponotus ligniperda oligogyny experiment (successful, but paused) and then multiple spreadsheets of community experiments with broodboosting and adoptions.

You can check them out before I make a post here: Mixing species by BroodBoosting (BB) | Adoptions List
(You can write in the spreadsheet, but please refrain from editing someone else's observations, changes are recorded and you'll face consequences)

Welcome to the forum! I look forward to learning more about your ants. I have a Czech last name.
"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.
