Oddly enough I found one on the ceiling of my kitchen a couple nights ago. I'd like some help identifying and a place to learn more about them like this great forum. Does anyone else keep them out know of a good resource?

There are actually a surprising number of mantis forums out there, they are more popular than ants.  I stumble across them now and again while researching.

I also find a bit about them on various reptile forums.

You probably got a Stagmomantis californica. Mandits are interesting, but they only live for a year. Mantidforum.net is great.

Species I keep:

1 Lasius cf. Neoniger 30 workers

1 Camponotus sp. 15 workers

20 Tetramorium SpE 30 workers

1 T. Sessile 200 workers
