Hey yall, new to the forums. I've been looking everywhere online for Atta Texana but can't seem to find them anywhere. Is there a reason for that? ChatGPT said its legal to keep in my area but I still can't find anyone selling Attas. Any information is helpful  (y)

Atta is a pretty sought after genus even though ant keepers sometimes catch them in large flights. There are likely places in Texas that antkeepers have identified large native populations in, so use the search bar in the top right to see if you can find old threads about that. Otherwise monitor the General Marketplace over the summer or reach out to some Texas shop owners in that section to see if they are active or know any good spots. Finally, the only place with Atta publicly listed (but out of stock) is The Ant Vault, the most overpriced and sleazy ant business in my opinion. When a company has Atta versicolor listed at $699.99 retail value, you know the business is not about the ants.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

Hey,

I recently caught enough Atta texana for 32 colonies and I'd be willing to sell some if enough make it to workers. They'd probably get workers in 1-2 months from now. PM me if you have any questions.
