Why are my tetras not growing quickly? They still have 100 workers and 25 brood. I'm feeding them their recommended diet already.

Are they heated? Also, people almost always underestimate how much Tetras are willing to eat. Powerfeed them and heat them and they will grow.

They don't seem to be wanting food. They are heated. 22 degrees celsius. I give them mealworms and they just let them rot

Many species don't prefer mealworms. You can try roaches, crickets, or pistachio seeds, as Tetramorium like these a lot.

22 degrees Celsius is a bit too cool for them to thrive in. They will still grow, but not as much as if they were heated at around 30 degrees Celsius or so. I'd offer a bit more variety as well, considering that they eat pretty much any proteins you give them. Aside from the usual feeder insects, I often opt for fish flakes, bits of almond, chopped sunflower seeds, and crushed chia seeds. They also benefit from sugar water for carbohydrates, so be sure to give them a constant supply.

so a large variety of food will make them eat more? i will use a space heater and a thermometer to heat my ant room

Variety is good, although your problem seems to be less about variety and more about the fact that mealworms kind of suck.

they do? i have nothing else but mealworms and the aphids on my mom's roses

You could get some fruit flies and feeder roaches from petco, they are cheap and easy to keep.

Crickets are usually 12-15 cents/piece at most pet stores.

Zhuge, you are kind of spamming the forum. Don’t use someone else’s journal as your own Q and A thread. Read more and learn. Look through the archives, and you’ll find answers to all your questions.

Hello Zhuge;

You're in luck because Tetramorium ants will eat almost anything.   I seldom feed mine insects, I feed them mostly meat products.    You can read more about what I feed my ants here.    Results From Two Feeding Experiments by RPT - General Ant Keeping - Ants & Myrmecology Forum
