On 4/4/2024 I received my Myrmecocystus semirufus queen from Stateside ants. She arrived safely, and with 11 eggs.

You guys are so lucky having these ants. Honeypots have always fascinated me. They are ridiculously expensive over here.
Good luck with the colony, please post frequent updates.

The queen has quite the brood pile going, and is looking quite large.

It honestly depends tho. Here in Oregon we only have a few honeypots that are rarely on sale. I’ve waited for I’ve 2 1/2 years to find them in stock. In Europe you can just buy

Funny thing is that Oregon doesn't actually have M. semirufus. It's an error on Antmap's part, where they listed the synonymized M. semirufa (=M. kennedyi) as M. semirufus.

So it looks like we have 5 larvae now, as well as plenty of eggs.
