I bought an apheanogaster occidentalis colony from jeffpbalderson, the ants are supposed to arrive either on thursday or friday. I need help on how to care for them, seeing as this will be the first time that I have kept this genus. If anyone has anything theyโ€™d like too share, go right ahead!

There may be a care sheet for the species on the forum, along with many journals you can look over. A. occidentalis is a great species - colonies are rarely picky eaters and as with most Aphaenogaster ants they have a fantastic feeding response (a video of one such response here from a small colony I had last year). You'll want to hibernate them as well.
