This queen was caught in Scituate, Massachusetts around 5:00 PM on August 25. She is 5 mm, brownish-yellow, and has a pretty long gaster for her size. She looks like Lasius, but is much smaller than the L. americanus and neoniger queens I have caught. She is around the size of a Solenopsis molesta queen.

Probably Solenopsis of some type.

That’s what I thought at first, but according to AntWeb, S. molesta is the only Solenopsis we have in Massachusetts. This queen looks very different than those queens I have caught.
