Dorymyrmex insanus queen; a pretty good beginner species if you're starting to keep ants for the first time.

never kept this species before, any advice? Diet? Claustral? Population growth rate?
Currently keeping Solenopsis Molesta, Brachymyrmex Patagonicus, and a new Dorymyrmex insanus queen. I hate argentine ants.
Previously kept: pheidole pilifera, solenopsis geminata

Keep heated around 80-85 degrees, fully claustral, likes liquid sugars and most feeder insects, and grows pretty quickly on heat (workers should develop within 3-4 weeks).

This sounds unprofessional, but... I think Brachymyrmex have smaller heads and larger gasters in proportion to body size than Dorymyrmex. This is just based on my observations however.

You sure its not brachymyrmex patagonicus? Dorymyrmex is usually more elongated.
Nah I knows its not brachymyrmex bc I have a colony of them currently and they are TINY.
