Don’t know 1. If this a queen - I believe I see wing scars and 2. What type of ant this is.

I’m new to this and this is the first time seeing and catching this type of ant.

I’m in the Denver area and it’s about 1cm long with long legs. Was super fast! Black and like a maroon red in color.

No, in fact that is not even an ant. It is an ant mimicking hemipteran (true bug) of some kind.

Broad-headed Bug, family Alydidae. The nymphs famously mimic ants.
