Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many cool ants right were you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that are not found in your area.

Where are you located, and are they common in your area?
Like my profile says, I'm in Iowa, and I don't really know if they are common, but I don't see them too often.

Got it. Look for Crematogaster cerasi queens on very hot and humid days with light winds at the end of summer. Days after rains are best. Here in Virginia, I find them from mid August to early September. Alates leave the nest around 11:00am, and dealates can be found wandering about the rest of the afternoon. I find them mostly in edge habitats with abundant native trees nearby. Native creeper vines ( like Virginia creeper and trumpet creeper) are also important nectar sources for them, so I recommend looking for those.
Oh, I know of a perfect place for that!
