This is my Lasius colony, although the queen is parasitic. Can anyone tell me the scientific name for this species? When will she start laying eggs?(the parasitic queen) that would be great

the picture is not the best and I know that.

I also have pictures of their outworld that I just made for them.

Lasius umbratus. https://www.formicul...atus#entry94028 https://www.formicul...asius-umbratus/ These should help.

The color and shininess of the queen makes me think its lasius claviger and not umbratus.

Yeah, I just looked on antwiki and it looked more like umbratus than claviger, but I am no expert at ant identification.

Yes, the color, shininess, and yellow legs in that picture gives the queen away to be claviger. What hosts are you using?

I've had success using both Lasius alienus and neoniger.

I unfortunately had to buy my Claviger queen instead of catching her. Apparently, Lasius Coloradensis lives in central Alberta Canada so maybe I can catch some of those this year. Fingers crossed.
