Myrmecocystus queen question

Today I noticed this white structure on my Myrmecocystus mexicanasScreenshot_20221222-180713.png
Is this a reason for concern or is it normal?

I believe it's just the membrane of the queens crop, or whatever the correct terminology is. You can see something similar on the abdomen of the queen below.

Ok, so a while back I bought two M. mexicanas queens. One had the structure and the other didn’t, then upon further investigation the structure seemed to be some sort of injury because it would come up off the “skin” of the queen if something rubbed against it the way a half peeled off scab would. However the most interesting thing was that the queen without the injury died but the one with it survived!

Mine only had the front of the gaster though.
