I saw a pest control ad on a bench earlier this week that showed a messor barbarus queen. They literally just copy pasted a random photo from the internet.

Alright, this is just stupid. https://www.rentokil...log/ant-species

Half those species aren't even found in Australia.

I admittedly used this website to identify ants when I was a beginner. Not proud of that at all.

As funny as it is, keep in mind that alot of these companies use an ad company to make these things with little or no input from the actual PC company.

The layers of wrongness are wild. For one thing ants are one of the few insects that do practice quarantine of sick individuals. Ants in homes are more of a nuisance than a health crisis (like roaches) with the possible exception of a few species. The ants shown are not "pesty" types.

On and on...

Oh and ants can't get or spread COVID what???

I tried to make jokes about how bad pest control company ads are... but they ended up just looking like normal pest control ads.
