Caught a twig ant dealate yesterday, along with a group of workers with possibly a queen and two alates.

Any tips for raising these queens? I have looked at the guides, and I have heard they don’t make it in test tubes. I brood boosted this recent queen, and she seems to be enjoying the tube after a fruit fly and some nectar. Pictures coming soon.(And yes, I am 100% sure she is queen) Pictures coming soon.

Not sure if this helps but you can try a bamboo test tube setup which is what most people use for raising their old world counterpart, Tetraponera. If you can't afford one you can make one yourself by cutting a circle with cardboard that can fit in the test tube and then cut a hole in it, make at least two of them.

Began antkeeping in 2018  :)

Founding my queen and advice given to me from someone much more experienced with Pseudomyrmex, founding queens do well in test tube setups and don't really have a need for anything fancy.

ReignofRage is completely correct. Making my Pseudomyrmex too fancy of a nest basically killed them.

Oh… sorry about that

Update: Queen is dead, layed a few scattered eggs. I think she was unmated
