When I bought this queen online she arrived last spring with two dead nanitics. It happens. The other ants I got from the seller were great. 

 

Last summer she did little but eat, but I put her into diapause anyway. Maybe she could start over...

Hoping to Catch This season:

M. romanei, M. placodops 02, P. imberbiculus, Polyergus sp., F. moki, A. megomatta, Cyphomyrmex sp.,Temnothorax sp.

I'm a little concerned she might be chromaiodes not novaeboracensis... I will still call them "the empire state colony" either way. 

Most recently they unwrapped another nanitic.

that's Camponotus Chromaiodes, not Camponotus novaeboracensis. I've kept Camponotus novaeboracensis for years and its the species I've kept the most of. The red coloring on Camponotus novaeboracensis is much different. More distinct and brighter.

I hope that with time I'll get better at identifying ants. Why can't they have little business cards???

You can change the title yourself by going to the original post, editing, then using full editor.
