Started heating yogi today.

Received this queen from ReignofRage a few months ago.

Enjoy! This will be a mostly pictures journal.

Included pics of a major I found and the queen I caught that was infertile.

Art by my brother.

Some nice pictures you got! Glad I was able to break the "rarity" of C. yogi and send a handful out to people. She looks like she's ready to lay eggs, so should be within around a week or so.

Sorry for the procrastination, she got her first worker on April 4th. She now has 3 workers and a decent brood pile.

She has 5 workers now and brood of various stages. Fed them a baby dubia and honey yesterday and they ate the whole thing. Switching away from fruit flies and nectar in case it turns out that those are the cause of my colonies deaths.

I don't think that the fruit flies and nectar would be the whole reason that the ant colonies are dying. If your feeding only fruit flies and nectar, I recommend adding some mealworms or something so they get more liquid protein, but you could still offer fruit flies. Congrats that your yogi has 5 workers btw.

My PFP is an ant. Yes. An Ant. I promise.

I agree but I'm not really sure what else to blame so I'm playing it safe for now.

Well, this colony is probably gonna die a slow and depressing death. One worker died and others are acting strange which means whatever's been killing my ants in the past is killing them. I'm probably not gonna get more or buy ants in general ever again. Whatever lives lives. I can't figure it out so I'm kinda giving up. If I'm overreacting and they survive I'll do an update but until I'm sure they're in the clear I'm not gonna update.
