Ant queen with wings still on

Hi! I found a ant colony but I found a winged queen. Because it was the only one I found does that mean its a fertile queen?

It is probably an infertile alate queen. However, it isn’t unheard of to find a wild colony where the queen still has her wings attached, and i have personally found it myself multiple times. It is quite uncommon, but the chances of her being fertile are greater if she was found surrounded by workers or outside of the species nuptial flight season.
