Hi,

 

I'm hoping someone can help me identify two ant colonies. The first workers (attached picture, first video link) was found in a rotting log. The second (second video link) was seen adjacent to some roots.

I agree. 1. Leptothorax canadensis can be a tiny bit lighter though. 2. definitely Lasius sp. they can be dark or light, you found light ones (obviously).
