The computers I currently have are my main laptop running Linux Mint, Android tablet and Asus netbook. None of them are really convenient for mobile computing, either bulky, lack of native MS Office, screen too small, etc.

I'm looking at a Surface Pro 3 because it has Windows for MS Office and easy smartcard compatibility. Plus, the screen size seems decent and it appears small and light enough I can easily grab it to go to the coffeeshop or throw it in my bag for a few weeks trip. Anyone have experience with the Surface? Any other suggestions for computers/tablets that meet my requirements?

Two of my friends have the surface, and from what I can tell they love it. Windows 8 works well with tablet's, especially with this one.  It is really handy to whip out, and isn't slow like other tablets/computers.
