Sooo my camponotus semitestaceus colony is getting pretty big for their ytong nest journal link here https://www.formicul...al/#entry210316(I'll update it today) and I'm thinking of getting a THA fortress but I'm not sure if it would be much bigger than the ytong because the chambers are pretty small( or at least look small), so I'm asking people who do have them, if I should

Thank youuu

A fortress is quite a large nest but I would also like to suggest a nest from Cocdeshijie

A Formisquarium XL from Arthropod Antics is going to give you the most usable space for your money; it has roughly the same amount of nesting space as a Tarheel Ants Labyrinth at 1/4th of the price. It may not mean much coming from the guy who makes them, but I've used them for a number of species, including several Camponotus, and they work excellently.

Just a suggestion, of course, but that would personally be my next choice for a space upgrade.  ;)

I have 4x4in flat and vertical formicariums that's good to fit large Camponotus species up to hundreds.

I guess it all depends on what you are looking for,
I have purchased lots of THA formicariums, but recently I changed to the above nest, for the following reasons

Look great and chambers give a naturalistic view ( to me)
Very practical
Great Price
Different variations and if you request they could be customized to an extent (connecting holes, smaller or larger water tower, etc)

All and all, great investment in my opinion

Yeah those nests from cocdeshijie look great, and are basically a fortress but much cheaper.

Yeah, my large tetra colony is housed in one of cocdeshijie's nests and it does wonders. No escapes, easy hydration, naturalistic feel, and easy viewing. I don't have to worry about my tetramorium because I know they are in great conditions :D
