The queen is about 3-4 millimeters long, and was caught 3/30/2021, on a sunny day(I can't say its hot) near a Lasius nest with workers nearby. There was no ants that looked similar to it present there.

All you can get from these images is that it is an ant. Better pictures will be needed to get genus and species ID.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

It isn’t Lasius or any large species but that’s about all I can tell you.

I'm gonna make a guess here and say its temnothorax. In the second photo you can see petiole nodes, and it’s clearly a fully claustral myrmicine. The size also fits with Temnothorax. It could also be tetramorium immigrans, though the flight time is a little off, or even pheidole, though the head size seems a little small.
