Is electrical tape toxic to ants?

I am in the process of making a critter keeper formicarium, and I have been using tape to cover all the holes in the lid. Unfortunately, I have ran out of scotch tape, and all I have left is electrical tape. Would electrical tape be safe for ants?

I've used electrical tape before. It is completely safe.

Also, I have heard of ants being attracted to electrical tape and getting stuck in it, have you ever experienced this type of ant behavior before?
