they don't allow shipping pogonomyrmex around even though that's like the main state that pogonomyrmex occidentalis are in
no..........., also you can keep and touch solenopsis invicta if they didn't come from a quarantine zone.

I have Known that invicta is bad and i mean xyloni TOTI've been wanting a Solonopsis colony reply if you hv one small under 20$ does notb matter species

that's so true. You need a permit for some reason to actually ship Pogonomyrmex occi into cali
That permit is actually pretty easy compared to the standard PPQ permits. It usually comes back in 1-3 days to my understanding.

Can we all agree that you can’t buy anything but a piece of wood in Cali without being taken to jail. I mean even that piece of wood that grew in your back yard for decades is illegal.

You can ship other Solenopsis within state just fine, as long as they are not S. invicta. California has plenty of other Solenopsis.

well in my area there's only argintines sadly
same with a majority of others. although you can find more ants if you go out looking and hiking.
Ants I am keeping:
none for now, planning on being more active this year

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Sorry, but do you mean 2020 or 2021? I thought ants weren't really active in January, but I guess it doesn't get that cold here.
My ants: One small(0 worker) Solenopsis xyloni colony- Queen Colony died
