So my Acromyrmex colony with three queens is about five months old now and I had expected the queens to have their death match by now but I don’t think they are ever going to have it. This is kind of making me happy but I don’t want to hold my breathe if this is still to early. What are your ideas on what is going on?

5months isn't long enough. Give it a year or 2. Or you got lucky and got sisters.

I think they are probably sisters. They are so cute when they clean each other.

Acromyrmex versicolor are truly polygynous to my knowledge.

Acromyrmex versicolor are truly polygynous to my knowledge.

In some areas they are, correct. California Acromyrmex are not poly unless they are sisters. At least at the area they are most populated at. There is some pocketed areas that have poly Acromyrmex but are hard to get to, and very small.

Thanks. I had someone give me an offer for a queen claiming that they were going to start their death matches already. I feel tricked.
