I have a C. sansabeanus colony of 8 workers and they are slowly loosing workers. They seem to be the nanitics due to size but I would like your input.

the exact same thing happened to my formica. they slowly lost workers until they have 1 left now. feed them more was my problem, or give them a tiny outworld. also try to heat them if you can.

Do you have them on heat? What is their set-up like? Is their set-up clean? How often do you feed them? Do they have access to water to drink and sugary foods? How often do you water their set-up?

These questions can help us help you.

camponotus are tricky ants, and believe it or not in my opinion you shouldn't check on them as normally as other ants. I would say always keep sugary foods, honey sugar water, available at most times.

We don’t talk about that

Camponotus are so easy to keep. I check every day and they do not seem to care.

Camponotus are easy. I didn't feed mine for 4 weeks and they did fine.

well our eastern species like to just die randomly even at a already founded colony of like 50 workers. sugar is mostly the problem though.

mine didn't. you do need to have carbs available at all times for the best results as kit said.e they are easier ants to keep, though.

So I think I am just going crazy but I just check on this colony after like 5 days on the heat cable I bought they have over 20 eggs and around 8 larva so I’m not too worried.
