Hello ant friends!

We would love your input on this small beauty from Portland, Oregon.

 

1. Location (on a map) of collection:  Portland, OR
2. Date of collection: Sept. 1, 2020
3. Habitat of collection: Landed on my leg while sitting in the backyard!
4. Length (from head to gaster): 3/16" (tiny!)
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Yellow/orange in color with grey stripes on gaster (please tell us it isn't a bee...)
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Looks like she has a stinger
7. Distinguishing behavior: Unknown
8. Nest description: Unknown

9. Nuptial flight time and date:Sept. 1st, 2020 @ 7pm

 

Looking forward to what you all think of her.  We have our fingers crossed she is a queen.  Thank you in advanced for your help!

Definitely brachymyrmex depilis. This species needs high humidity so i would put some substrate in her test tube.
