Alright, so I have a pogonomyrmex occidentalis queen in a tub and tubes setup so she can go forage for seeds if she wants to.  I have sand and rocks I got from a deserted pogonomyrmex nest that I put in there, and I change out some leaves and sticks every so often so it feels more natural.  I have been careful to make sure their aren't anything that could harm the queen on the leaves and sticks, (mites, etc) and today a small mite almost escaped me and I barely caught it before I added the leaves to the outworld.  What do you guys do to fix this?  Do you know of a way to make sure their aren't any mites, or a good brand of fake leaves I could use instead?
