Hello. I saw a Colorado thread under ‘general marketplace’, but it was suggested that it should be moved to general anting, so I started this. The title really explains it all, this is a thread for nuptial flights, anting, and general Colorado ant discussion. If you’re an ant keeper in Colorado, come say hi!

Nice. Where’d you find the C. pennsylvanicus?

Anyone looking forward to anting after this rain passes? Thursday is going to be in the 70's so be sure to get out there if you can. Looking forward to seeing what this season has.

I noticed that the amount of Tetramorium nests by my house have significantly decreased. I'd usually be seeing a bunch of Waring nests on the sidewalks by now but I haven't seen any this year. I was wondering if anyone else has seen a similar trend in their neighborhood or of it's an isolated incident?

Good luck I've only seen two queens, one died and the other was too fast and got away.

Anyone spotted any lasius yet in the Denver area? I saw a post of them flying in Boulder and I've been looking out for them but I haven't seen any. Just wondering if they are flying anywhere else.

Pogonomyrmex occidentalis we’re flying last week around Arvada.

Tons of pavement ant queens.

I somehow found a camponotus too

I’m now looking for any Formica and Lasius. Anyone know a good spot? Should be decent timing for them now.
