Camponotus or Formica?

Hey guys. Got this queen yesterday and I can’t tell if it’s camponotus or Formica. She has a black abdomen and head and a really dark red thorax with a few black streaks.

This appears to be Formica, but i'd wait for more input from the others on this forum.

After further research it looks maybe like Formica pallidefulva??

We won't be able to tell with these pics the exact species. Pallidefulva seems like a stretch.

Yes, we would need very close up and detailed photo to ID the species with pinpoint accuracy, Formica is a good species. Nice find!

(x1) Mymercocystus testaceus ~45 workers, 1 Queen
