This is the very Beginning of My second Attempt with these Species. (Not including samples of Workers)
When Build gets under way I will share more Photos and give updates.
I have not aquired The Ants yet, But hopefully soon.

I'm interested but what's the species so I do not have to click the link. I use my brain for designs. Maybe I should be like you and draw it out.

I figured out the water delivery.
I also purchased a Hygrometer/Thermometer that should be here Tuesday. so I can run some test. The part of Arkansas where I live is pretty humid. It is 81% today.

Good luck with the build!

Thank You. It is pretty much done. I went out "Ant Hunting" Tuesday night... bupkis.
I will have to try some closer areas. The first colony I captured was well withing the city. So I know there is potential for them to be closer.
It is ok if I do not catch them quickly. Gives me more time to tinker with the build.

It actually gets that humid here, as well. It makes 80 degrees feel like 100 elsewhere.

Depending on were I catch them and if I happen to locate a bivouac, that will help me determine the humidity. If the are nesting under rocks for example, I could use the probe to get a reading of the humidity. Could at leat give me a good starting point.
If I find them during an emigration that is different. I went out Tuesday evening for quite a while and did not even find raiding trails.

So I am almost done. I made these covering out of some spare wood and plywood. I used leather for the bottom to prevent scratches. I just need to add a feeding port and an introduction port. My next move is to decide on a substrate. I have some loose Coconut bedding that I am currently using with My Trachymermex Septentrionalis colony. I think I will use that in the "feeding arena", and then use a mix of soil collected from the capture location mixed with the Coconut bedding.
Any thoughts or Ideas?

I want to share a bit of information. My understanding is that these species are more likely found out in the woods...
I live in a city and Have marked the locations I have found them. The heart pins are areas where they were found. Two might be the same colony
