Hi,

 

I'm curious about whether there may potentially be an option to include pre-formatted, query style templates for certain kinds of threads? I know that with IDs, for example, many users tend to leave out crucial information, like location or measurements. Obviously, no one intends to do this, but many users, particularly newer ones, either don't know the template exists or get so carried away with trying to upload pictures, they don't remember to.

 

It may take more work than it's worth, but requiring posters to fill-in certain fields (e.g. state, country) and leave others (e.g. antennal segments, teeth, pubescence etc.) optional could be really helpful. Just a thought.

I've actually thought about the same thing many times. I could certainly make a post like that, but integrating it with the software so that it could actually be useful would be difficult... for me anyway.

After thinking more about it, I might be able to do something like that as long as they are new topics, which would work for the ID threads. I'll add it to my mile-long to-do list.
