People are always making remarks about Wikipedia being an unreliable source, yet many of us seem to trust AntWiki. I was wondering how erroneous it is compared to Wiki.

It's not the most reliable, but it specializes in ants and actually has somewhat decent info, making it infinitely superior to wikipedia.

Antwiki has always been sketchy to me. They make a lot of mess-ups with pictures and stuff like that. They're an ok resource for keys though. But there are better ways to get information.

Short answer, yes, it is much more reliable.

I would say more reliable, yes. However, as with any source of information, nothing is 100% because of human error. But that being said. it is only modified by myrmecologists and isn't open to public modification like Wikipedia.

The simple fact is [censored] happens, the site is generally a very reliable source in spite of the occasional mistake. And when I have found mistakes they have been quick to fix them.

Then change it? Problem solved. Antwiki is not a publically edited website. Wikipedia is.
