If you ain't got a dream, you ain't got nothing.
The big fat one in the upper left corner?

Depending on the species, it could be a queen, or it may not be a queen. Again, we need a clearer picture. Try to get one that shows more detail on the middle section (mesosoma) of this ant.
A closer picture is needed, preferably in better lighting. Such as going outside in light shade.
The thorax is fairly wide all the way to the gaster, this might be a queen, or just an unusual angle of the picture.

It is Dorymyrmex insanus.
Either Linepithema humile or Tapinoma sessile.
I don't think you're going to find D. insanus with a queen in leaf litter anyways.

You think?
Yes. Are you questioning both lines or just one?
D.insanus just seemed the most logical...
Logical to find them with multiple queens living in leaf litter?
Yes this is a queen and as Drew mentioned I think Linepithema humile is right.

Where were multiple queens mentioned?
Looks like Dorymyrmex insanus too me, although I agree with dspdrew that it's odd to find in leaf litter. Just looks a little off from the Linepithema and Tapinoma queens I have/had.
Camponotus vicinus, Crematogaster 1, Crematogaster 2, Formica francoeuri, *, *, Myrmecocystus testaceus, Novomessor cockerelli, Pheidole hyatti, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus, Solenopsis invicta

Sorry, I thought these were the same ants he had posted here (http://www.formicult...ture-for-queen/).
Edit: Actually I think they are the same. It was just that probably only I knew this because of the emails he was sending me.
