This is a nice simple little discussion of ant navigation while dragging food home backwards.
I actually was wondering about this as I watched a Veromessor pergandei dragging home dandelion seeds (and missing the test tube entrance due to a piece of fluff). Clearly there are still lots of questions remaining, though.

If this article mentions Camponotus doing this, I'm going to lose it lol. I house some of the weirdest ants (honestly a fitting ant colony for my personality lol), and they are bizarre, I'll give them that much.

I'm a bit annoyed that the article is about Cataglyphis but has a picture of Oecophylla. I assume, then, that the people who write the articles are not the same ones who choose the pictures and headlines.

Problem is if the associated photos aren't easily available, what photos can you (as a news publisher) get quickly on short notice? Stock photos. But the caption sucks for sure.
