Cool!

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

My largest(but by no means big) colony is a Myrmica Americana colony with 5 queens and about 100-150 workers. I originally dug them out of my backyard with maybe 50 workers, and they have expanded.

Mine is a two year old Camponotus colony at 20 workers and their size (if not more) in brood.

Mine is a less-than-a-year-old fused (with workers from other colonies of his who's queens died) Camponotus pennsylvanicus colony (previously in the possession of Ants4Fun) with around 15 workers.

They died because of hibernation(never leave your colonies outside in the frigid SD weather)And now my next reigning colony is a 17 ant tetramorium which will soon be sold to ants4fun, which leaves my next in command, an 9 ant colony formica.

On second thought, it’s probably pennsylvanicus, as the species are identical, and pennsylvanicus is more common.

This is the fastest growing Camponotus I’m aware of.

No doubt - started with 9 queens.  Lost one, but the rest kept growing.  Sold 4 colonies and have 4 left, all with well over 1,000 workers each.  Had to start raising Discoids to keep them fed (which is almost as cool as the ants).

volume wise, Camponotus pennsylvanicus with over 500 workers, but actual numbers is probably my 2 queen Solenopsis xyloni with ~1200 workers. Another honorable mention is my Aphaenogaster tennesseensis with just over 1000 workers.
