I see people misspell gaster more than crematogaster, but honestly Myrmecocystus is the worst in terms of spelling.

I agree with this 100% but people actually spell it like goster.

You wanna know how hard people find it to spell Crematogaster? In the original description of the genus, they screwed over everyone when they spelled Crematogaster wrong! It was supposed to be spelled Cremastogaster, but because of a typo, the entire genus is now called Crematogaster instead, and because you can't really correct grammatical errors in taxonomy, it's going to continue being called Crematogaster.

The reason they are invasive is because they become stowaways on boats. They don't even pay for tickets..

Thank God Paraponera clavata is not one of them, imagine having to deal with those instead of fire ants.

Naw, I think in Massachusetts it's Nylanderia. At least in my yard there's more Nylanderia then there is Tetramorium.

For some reason, I keep spelling Aphaenogaster as Apheanogaster

That's not as bad as people spelling it Aphenogaster, which I have seen lately. Where did the "a" go?

When a random person looks at a Pheidole colony: I bet they'd think that the majors in Pheidole are the smarter ones..
