Saw trails of ghost ants in the rainforest exhibit in the academy of sciences, reported them but if they spread and survive the cold this could be an issue.

How close were you?
Just asking because I have use a magnifying glass to identify most ants. Although these do have a distinct pattern.

Ghost ants are known to inhabit tropical greenhouses throughout the world so I wouldn't be too worried. The good news though is that now you have a population to collect colonies or specimens from. I have a colony and they're very fun to keep although also escape artists.
