Well, although I know quite a few of you from other forums, I decided I should probably introduce myself here.

I'm from Austin, TX. I've been really interested in ants for about 2 or 3 years now. I had some colonies in the past that succumbed to mold, and in one case (Crematogaster laeviscula), dismembered their own queen for no particular reason.

 

I'm kind of tempted to try Atta texana again if I can find them this year. Last time I tried to keep them, none of the fungus survived, despite being kept at the temperature recommended in every source I've found.
