1.Chatsworth CA
2.06/10/2019
3.Ranches but found on concrete in warehouse
4.?
5.One is red with black gaster. The other is all black with triangle shaped head
6.no noticible distinguishable parts.
7.The black one tends to shake its gaster and the red one sits on top of the cotton ball with water .
8. Could not find nest
9.Red one flight time was 11:30pm 06/10/2019. Black one was around 12:50am 06/11/2019

The first photo looks to be a Crematogaster queen. 

 

The second photo looks to be a Solenopsis queen, possibly Solenopsis xyloni.

 

Considering the quality of those photos and the fact that you did not supply any measurements, I can't really identify those ants properly.

 

Next time, please follow the correct ID template and embed your photos. It's really not that complicated.

Solenopsis xyloni (to my knowledge) are not found anywhere near Australia.

orange one looks like solenopsis. the second one is hard, as the picture looks like a male but the shape in the background of the first photo looks like a queen and the head is too large.

Solenopsis xyloni (to my knowledge) are not found anywhere near Australia.

Second one looks like a male to me, abdomen is way too small compared to the head. The brown one.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies. 

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
