I think I will head out by Pinon Hills / Cajon Pass, I believe people have found stuff like Pheidole, Camponotus, Veromessor, and pots round Pinon on the forum. From what I recall they were found by dspdrew and Nurbs from what I see in the search bar.

So jealous of you LA  people.
Why did you make me feel so bad..
Sorry M_ants, I bet now rain will begin starting up again (hopefully) and it may move down to SD. So I think you will be good.

Wasn't trying to. :)  Hope your right though.

Perhaps, but it seems to not be lasting there for more then 20 minutes. So either we will get no flights (if the weather app is wrong, which it probably won’t be), but more in the coming days. Or we still get nuptial flights but with a little more queens coming out and a little later in the day.

I will be there this evening/afternoon. When the sun should come back up is when I think they will fly.

Yeah I definitely can't go sadly. My son starts school (distance learning) tomorrow and our only car(mine died) is my GFs and she's worried about me driving it that far away because I'm not insured on it. So I'm out. Y'all have a lot fun!

It's a shame AccuWeather only goes back an hour and half... I remember there was a weather app that would go back a whole 72 hours, which was it?

:>

So I went on said “iweathernet” and I found the 24 hour accumulation of rainfall, this was at Pinon Hills / Smoke Tree Road area, I feel we will be getting some crazy flights.

Still figuring that out, certainly after 3:00 to wait out the majority of the scorching heat.
Also if anybody could give advice if I need anything else for anting in Phelan, I currently have: buncha test tubes, aspirator, cotton balls, and a magnifying glass I found lying around to take a look at queens / workers.

Of course I have water, food, and a first aid kit, but I’m just talking about catching ants.
