Anyone know a cheap and effective black light I could use on trips?

It will take a few weeks before you get it. It's not terribly bright but probably good enough for a small, portable trap.

Just remember to cover the light with a white cloth.

Because the trap only works with the cloth. The ants are attracted to it.

It diffuses the blacklight over a larger area which in turn increases the effectiveness of the blacklight.

Plus it makes is easier to catch queens on it. You don’t want to have to reach into small cracks and crannies with an aspirator. Another reason is that, sometimes you miss a bug, and when you bring the setup inside, you have bugs in your house!!

The sheet works better behind the light, not over it.

I'm wondering. Would a mylar safety blanket be better?

It would reflect more light and attract more bugs right?
