I'm pretty new to antkeeping, and I know that I started at a bad time to get into the hobby, because its already winter. But to be ready for the upcoming spring, I need to be ready for nuptial flights. I live in Nevada, and here, its pretty much desert. If you have any insight on the nuptial flight schedule there, then I would greatly appreciate it.

I have hardly any data for Nevada specifically. This is all I have. you should just look for particular species on the North American Queen Ant Spotting/Mating Chart.

Species Year	Month	Day	State	City/Locale
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Myrmecocystus kennedyi 2005	6	6	NV	Carson City
Pogonomyrmex californicus 2015	8	18	NV	Las Vegas
Pogonomyrmex sp. 2011	7	28	NV	Salt Lake City
Tetramorium caespitum 2013	6	23	NV
Tetramorium caespitum 2015	6	11	NV

No problem.

In all seriousness, you probably live in one of the best states for anting. I'd imagine the flight schedule to be similar to surrounding states, and there seems to be quite a bit of California & Arizona documentation.

Good luck! :)

Hijacking this thread.

I am assuming this is something you are currently working on spaz and i have a couple of comments. The first being that United States and United States of America are available in the country drop down, one of which only has a handful of states available for selection. My second comment is that it would be nice if, when you click on a species name, it took you to page containing the flight report information, such as location, any pics if available, etc. This would specifically help for areas like NV, which varies greatly ecologically from North to South. Being in Northern NV, I was shocked to see some people have reported flights this late into the year, but I had to remind myself that Southern NV does not experience the same winters we do in the North. Just a couple little things.

Thanks!

Current Colony:

4x Camponotus (hyatti?)

Thanks for your information. Yes, the database that holds the data needs to be cleaned, didn't think antweb.org would be that disorganized with their info and locations. Currently, consider the data as a 'base' to help you. Currently, no anters data have been used. Yes, there is and will be a map once I get Add Flight Record added, you will see all the approved records from fellow antkeepers. This will make the database more accurate. Excited personally.
