I don't know about anyone else, but I love seeing other peoples' photos of ants, and sharing my own. If there's enough interest, I think this forum would benefit from an ant photography section.

Does it need to be a whole section? I think a pinned thread would work well: Photos of the day style, with everyone who wants to post their latest shots.

Hmm, that might get a bit messy. Different people in the thread might be discussing different photos from different people at the same time.

A subforum in, or next to the General subforum would be ideal.

I kind of thought that was what journals are for.

I thought that was what the "Gallery" tab was for.

No, the gallery is just all the pictures uploaded to the forum.

I'm talking about photos of any ants, not necessarily your own. I don't think it would be appropriate to post photos of wild ants in the journals section. I also think it would be a good place to put nice photos of your own ants, that aren't really for illustrating the progress of your colony, but are aesthetically pleasing. Furthermore, not everyone who takes photos of their ants wants to keep a journal of them.

Now that you mention it, I do have some pictures I took of some ants in my backyard that aren't good enough to use for identification purposes, but feel good enough for sharing. I'd post in a thread or subforum though.

Besides, General just seems so lonely when I'm navigating the forums on my phone. :P

Well I guess an ant picture thread would be a good idea, sort of like the formicarium picture thread. Anyone can make a thread though, so whoever wants to start it should do that.

I think the gallery is enough to be honest.
