Thought I just share my little soil formicarium 8 inches by 3 1/2 . I build over this week. The area for the ants to dig is 3/8 in. Backed by firebrick and starafoam and grount. I used a clay soil mix, my own mix, which I used before with great success. I added a hydration system, that uses a vacuum like the trap in your sink, it works amazing. Ants can come out top to forage.I always enjoyed soil set ups as l love to watch them dig tunnles and chambers. I still need to vent lid and drill another hole when they outgrow it.

Nice. BoxBox containers are the best. Do you have any pictures of this hydration system? I would like to see it.
