I have Pseudomyrmex gracilis colony available. The colony has about 20+ workers, load of larvae, and has been producing winged queens. I am currently feeding the colony B. lateralis, mealworm pupa, honey gut-load blue bottle, medium size cricket, fruit flies, etc. Message me if interested. I'm located around Greater Houston area.

I was excited.

Then I saw you are in Houston :( I'm still waiting to find a colony here in California or one to go up for sale lol...but no one sells this species very often (meaning at all thus far).

Such an amazing ant! Anyone who lives around you is sure going to get an amazing colony if they take the offer. :D

Their very alien-like appearance, plus they aren't supposed to be hard to keep either from what I was told. Not very big colonies, so they are a lot easy to maintain. Unlike Solenopsis invicta, for example, which grow to a crazy size (many tens/hundreds of thousands).

Mostly for me, its their very "exotic" appearance. They are really unique. Very unique for North American ants especially, since most of the "exotic" looking ants are in other countries. But, I've never even seen a Pseudomyrmex worker while I've been out anting. :( Just pictures/videos.

Yes the colony size is always remained within manageable amount unlike other species. My Pogonomyrmex. barbatus colony could go beyond 100 workers fairly quick if i keep the colony warm and well fed.

Also may I add that P gracilis has very wasp-like movement which is pretty cool. Very alert and will raise their head towards me whenever i approach the colony.

How much was the colony of 20 workers sold for?

A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?
