Dspdrew's Pheidole sp.3 Journal [204] (Discontinued)

I found these Pheidole queens on my black light in Trabuco Canyon, CA on 7-25-2018 at 5:00 AM, just after it got light. I found thirteen alates and one dealate. Later one of the alates removed its wings. All the rest still have their wings, and I suspect they are infertile.

4. Length (from head to gaster):  4 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture:  Orange with yellow gaster
6. Distinguishing characteristics:  
7. Anything else distinctive:  Mating flight took place at 5:00 AM

None of these were ever fertile unfortunately.
