Anywhere from 2-3 weeks with no additional heat in a room that is not cooled by air conditioning.

Update: 7/28/2015

I caught 12 more of these queens out in the desert, and hopefully these will do better than last year's. I will be sure not to bother them nearly as much this year. :P

Here is one of the brand new queens.

Update: 8/16/2015

Most of these new queens have larvae now. I am really hoping I get a good colony from these. They problem is their brood develops so slow in relation to Myrmecocystus and Crematogaster (the other queens in the drawer they are being kept in) and they are so easily disturbed, it is hard to get them off on a good start.

Oops, I forgot to update this journal when I posted this video.

Update: 9/22/2015

Three of these queens have workers now- one with three workers, one with two, and one with one. A couple more queens will be getting workers soon.

I have one colony doing okay, not too much growth. I lost like 60% of my ants over the summer because of heatwaves that I was not careful about.
