Bug ID. Springtail?

There's a bunch of these guys on the dirt patch where a few Pogonomyrmex and Dorymyrmex live. I sometimes mistake them for small species until I noticed they don't walk right...

Looks like a springtail to me.

Looks like a springtail to me.

Springtails love a little moisty places. They need moisty dirt or soil to put their eggs in. I know them from the greenhouse as a pest.


My office workspace is filled with Formica polyctena anthills
