Howdy y'all!

New ant keeper here. I came into possession of 2 Pogonomyrmex (Spelling) queens that appeared to have a problem with the cotton in the test tubes they were in.

So i bought two of those Uncle Milton Ant Farms and dropped em in after creating an initial tunnel. They are both far more active, but are they supposed to be? I thought they would start to nest and lay eggs and chill.

Any advice for a new keeper?

Thanks yall

Pogonomyrmex seem to need substrate or else they will fail during founding. They are semi claustral so yes they should be this active.
